Considering Your Audience

We’re all selling something – whether its a good or service, a volunteer opportunity, or a value system.  Most of us already know that rule #1 is to match your message to your audience.  An effective marketing message attracts the prospects you want, and should repel those you don’t want.

Surprisingly, not everyone knows this.  Especially the firm who listed this ad on Craigslist last week:

International wholesale company has several positions available, no experience necessary.
Call 602-xxx-xxxx Monday-Wednesday; 8:30am-3:30pm
Compensation: up to $500/week

You might think it’s not the worst ad you’ve come across, but then consider the title:

Free Beer

I wish I could be present for those interviews!
